Sirma won an open public procurement procedure to develop a National Intellectual Properties Information Exchange System (NIPIES).
NIPIES is an inter-departmental project involving the Bulgarian Patent Office, Bulgarian Customs Agency, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Justice. Its goal is to develop an information exchange, collaboration and dissemination system that integrates Intellectual Property (IP) descriptions across all government departments dealing with IP issues. The system is part of Bulgaria's obligations for ascension to the European Union. The system uses a sophisticated software architecture based on IBM products, including Business Integration Server, WebSphere Portal and DB2 Content Manager. Sirma staff are undergoing certification in these areas. The project will establish Sirma as a top-tier IBM partner in Bulgaria.
