Sirma is founding member of BASSCOM - the industry association of leading Bulgarian software development companies, aiming at promotion of competitive advantages and long-term traditions in software development, as well as adoption of best practices and standards from Bulgarian software companies.

As such, Sirma supports all BCCI core values, principles and initiatives aiming at building of proper market relationships, establishment of the principles of loyal competition,following good business practices and ethics in the sphere of economic activities. Sirma joined the Networked European Software and Services Initiative (NESSI) in 2006. NESSI is the European Technology Platform dedicated to Software and Services NESSI’s strategy is a multi-faceted approach identifying key application areas for services deployment and supporting strong coordination to effectively contribute to these key areas through advanced research and open standards. By its participation in NESSI initiatives Sirma wants to intensify EU-funded research in more practically-oriented areas, such as efficient implementation of large e-Government systems, improving software engineering practices, etc.
